Battle Buddies
Each player creating an account will be teamed with 4 other players starting at the same time. These will be the player's Battle Buddies.
Five other players are also grouped together with the first group but these will be your Battle Rivals.
Battle Buddies within your group are indicated by a green icon whether on the ground or in space.
You may call on any of your Battle Buddies for assistance but they are not obligated to help you nor are they penalized if they refuse.
Battle Rivals are indicated by an orange icon.
Regardless of the Security Rating of the system you are in or of your location, you may fire on a Battle Rival and exterminate them if possible. Doing so will not trigger intervention by Security forces based on the Security Rating of the system but may trigger security intervention if you are in a public place or location where shooting at others is restricted or prohibited.
You can access the Battle Buddy window at any time.
The Battle Buddy window will provide stats on each of your Battle Buddies and each Battle Rival such as Leaderboard, number of kills, Experience Points gained in the last 24 (real-world) hours, Hours Played Total, Hours Played in the last 24 hours, Net Worth, Increase in Net Worth in the last 24 hours, Total Number of Ships, Ships Acquired (by whatever means) in the last 24 hours, Total Number of weapons, Net Worth and Net Worth increase in the last 24 hours.
The Battle Buddy window will feature separate columns for Battle Buddies and Battle Rivals and the listing of names will be according to kills in the last 24 hours, Experience Points gained in the last 24 hours and Hours played in the last 24 hours. Other stats on each Battle Buddy or Battle Rival will not influence the Leaderboard and are provided for reference only.
